1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Sauk Centre High School girls basketball team on winning the 2018
1.3State High School Class AA girls basketball championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Sauk Centre basketball team participated in the 2018 State High School
1.7Class AA girls basketball tournament on March 14-17, 2018, at the Target Center; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Roseau Rams 63 to 52 in the final game of the tournament
1.9to win the state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Mainstreeters finished the regular season with an outstanding 32 - 0 record;
1.11and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the Sauk Centre High School girls basketball team
1.14for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.16enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.17Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Sauk
1.18Centre High School.
