1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Edina High School girls hockey team on winning the 2018 1.3State High School Class AA girls hockey championship. 1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of 1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and 1.6WHEREAS, the top-seeded Edina hockey team was one of eight teams participating in the 1.72018 State High School Class AA girls hockey tournament at the Xcel Energy Center on February 1.822-24, 2018; and 1.9WHEREAS, after beating Brainerd 4-0 in the quarterfinals and Eden Prairie 4-2 in the 1.10semifinals, they defeated the Centennial Cougars 2-1 in the final game of the tournament to win 1.11the state championship; and 1.12WHEREAS, the Hornets finished the season with an outstanding 25-2-1 record; and 1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that 1.14congratulations are extended to the members of the Edina High School girls hockey team for their 1.15sportsmanship and skill. 1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the 1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Edina 1.19High School.
