1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Woodbury High School cheer team on winning the National High
1.3School Cheerleading Championship in Small Varsity Game Day Non-Tumbling
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Woodbury High School cheer team participated in the National High School
1.7Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida, on February 10-11, 2018; and
1.8WHEREAS, the Woodbury High School cheer team took home the championship in the
1.9Small Varsity Game Day Non-Tumbling division. The division consists of a band dance, situational
1.10sideline, timeout cheer, and fight song; and
1.11WHEREAS, the team also placed fourth out of over 40 teams in the Small Varsity
1.12Non-Tumbling division; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.14congratulates the Woodbury High School cheer team members Brenna Beck, Zoe Bushard, Presley
1.15Domke, Gwenny Hanson, Ava Key, Paige Kibwana, Fiona Kidane, Katie Johnston, Becca Morales,
1.16Elle Peterson, Abby Uphus, and Alesia Williams on winning the National High School Cheerleading
1.17Championship in Small Varsity Game Day Non-Tumbling.
1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.19enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.20Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.21Woodbury High School.
