1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Gabriella Feygin of Excelsior for receiving the Prudential
1.3Spirit of Community Award.
1.4WHEREAS, Ms. Gabriella Feygin, a fifth-grade student at Minnewashta Elementary School
1.5and resident of Excelsior, has achieved national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by
1.6receiving a 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and
1.7WHEREAS, this prestigious award, presented by Prudential Financial in partnership with
1.8the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers across the United
1.9States who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and
1.10WHEREAS, Gabriella earned this award devoting time and energy to cofound a youth
1.11initiative that has raised more than $130,000 to assist families affected by childhood cancer and
1.12devoting more than 2,000 hours to the "Michael Romm's Legacy" fund-raising team named in honor
1.13of her grandfather; and
1.14WHEREAS, the success of the state of Minnesota, the strength of our communities, and the
1.15overall vitality of American society depend, in great measure upon the dedication of young people
1.16like Gabriella who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others; and
1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.18commends Ms. Gabriella Feygin for her dedication to the community and congratulates her in
1.19earning a 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.
1.20BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.21enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.22Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Gabriella Feygin.
