1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Glorene Novak for her farm's recognition as a 2017 Century Farm.
1.3WHEREAS, the Minnesota State Fair and the Minnesota Farm Bureau have recognized 165
1.4Minnesota farms as 2017 Century Farms; and
1.5WHEREAS, qualifying farms have been in continuous family ownership for at least 100
1.6years and are 50 acres or more; and
1.7WHEREAS, since the program began in 1976, more than 10,000 Minnesota farms have
1.8been recognized as Century Farms; and
1.9WHEREAS, Glorene Novak's farm in Prior Lake is being recognized for more than 100
1.10years of continuous family ownership, as well as its contributions to Minnesota's agriculture industry;
1.11and
1.12WHEREAS, Century Farm families receive a commemorative sign, as well as a certificate
1.13signed by Minnesota State Fair and Minnesota Farm Bureau presidents and Governor Mark Dayton;
1.14and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16congratulates Glorene Novak for her farm's recognition as a 2017 Century Farm.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Glorene Novak.
