1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Benjamin Kozemzak of Eagan High School for choosing to
1.3serve in the National Guard of the United States.
1.4WHEREAS, those young people who elect to protect our nation's precious freedoms by
1.5volunteering to serve in the armed forces of the United States perform a crucial service in the
1.6defense of our country; and
1.7WHEREAS, in 1973, the United States military eliminated the draft, creating today's
1.8all-volunteer force; and
1.9WHEREAS, upon graduation, Benjamin Kozemzak of Eagan High School will be entering
1.10the National Guard of the United States, a tremendous honor deserving of special legislative
1.11recognition;
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.13congratulates Benjamin Kozemzak of Eagan High School on deciding to serve and protect our
1.14country in the National Guard of the United States, and extends best wishes to Benjamin for the
1.15future.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Benjamin Kozemzak.
