1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Sydney Warner of Kenyon-Wanamingo on being named to the All-State
1.3Band.
1.4WHEREAS, the All-State Band program is sponsored by the Minnesota Music Educators
1.5Association (MMEA) to develop the finest musicians and leaders among Minnesota's most
1.6accomplished high school students; and
1.7WHEREAS, the All-State program supports secondary school music ensembles, MMEA
1.8members, and members' students; and
1.9WHEREAS, each All-State Band audition includes playing all scales in succession, in a
1.10single continuous take, at the articulation and tempo indicated; performing a solo selected by the
1.11teacher and student based on recommended difficulty level published by MMEA; and performing
1.12the Band Etude posted by the MMEA; and
1.13WHEREAS, Sydney Warner of Kenyon-Wanamingo was able to pass the audition and
1.14be named to the All-State Band, the first student from Kenyon-Wanamingo to be so honored
1.15since 1999; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.17congratulates Sydney Warner of Kenyon-Wanamingo on being named to the All-State Band.
1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.19enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.20Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Sydney Warner.
