1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Don Stewart of Lake City on his retirement.
1.3WHEREAS, Don Stewart of Lake City has been the maintenance supervisor and facilities
1.4manager at Valley Craft Industries, Inc., in Lake City; and
1.5WHEREAS, Valley Craft was established in 1953 when Carl Weinmann introduced the
1.6first hand truck with a brake, and over the last six decades, it has grown to become a world class
1.7manufacturer known for its expertise in producing rugged and versatile hand trucks, carts, trailers,
1.8portable lifts, hydraulic drum handling devices, and storage equipment; and
1.9WHEREAS, Valley Craft takes pride in their heritage of building high-quality
1.10American-Made products to handle and store materials more safely, more securely, and more
1.11efficiently; and
1.12WHEREAS, on the shores of beautiful Lake Pepin, Valley Craft is staffed by a committed
1.13and loyal team of employees, as fully a third of their associates have been with the company
1.14for more than 25 years; and
1.15WHEREAS, after 32 years at Valley Craft, Don Stewart has decided to retire; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.17congratulates Don Stewart of Lake City on his 32 years of outstanding service at Valley Craft, and
1.18extends best wishes to him in his retirement.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Don Stewart.
