1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Wayzata High School boys hockey team on winning the 1.32016 State High School Class AA boys hockey championship. 1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of 1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and 1.6WHEREAS, the Wayzata hockey team was one of eight teams that participated in the 2016 1.7State High School Class AA boys hockey tournament on March 3-5, 2016; and 1.8WHEREAS, after beating Burnsville 3-1 in the quarterfinals and Stillwater Area 2-1 in the 1.9semifinals, they defeated the Eden Prairie Eagles 5-3 in the final game of the tournament at the 1.10Xcel Energy Center to win the state championship; and 1.11WHEREAS, the Trojans finished the season with an excellent 22-8-1 record; and 1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that 1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the Wayzata High School boys hockey team for 1.14their sportsmanship and skill. 1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare 1.16an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of 1.17the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal 1.18of Wayzata High School.
