1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Hill-Murray High School boys hockey team on winning
1.3the 2020 State High School Class 2A boys hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Hill-Murray hockey team was one of eight teams that participated in the
1.72020 State High School Class 2A boys hockey tournament on March 5-7, 2020, at Xcel Energy
1.8Center; and
1.9WHEREAS, after beating Moorhead 5-1 in the quarterfinals and St. Thomas Academy 3-2
1.10in overtime in the semifinals, they defeated the Eden Prairie Eagles 4-1 in the final game of the
1.11tournament to win their fourth state championship; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Pioneers finished the season with an outstanding 21-6-3 record; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to the members of the Hill-Murray High School boys hockey team
1.15for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.19Hill-Murray High School.
