1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring the Winona Noon Lions Club on their 80th anniversary.
1.3WHEREAS, Lions Clubs comprise the world's largest service club organization,
1.4empowering volunteers around the world to serve their respective communities, meet
1.5humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding; and
1.6WHEREAS, founded in 1935, the Winona Noon Lions Club is one of more than 46,000
1.7Lions Clubs active today; and
1.8WHEREAS, Winona Noon Lions help individuals and families in the Winona area by
1.9providing meals, sponsoring events, hosting fund-raisers, and donating equipment to local
1.10businesses and organizations; and
1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.12recognizes the Winona Noon Lions Club for offering assistance and fostering opportunity in the
1.13Winona area and honors the Lions on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of their founding.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.15an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.16the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the Winona
1.17Noon Lions Club.
