1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Chuck Spavin for being named Volunteer of the Year by the
1.3Hastings Chamber of Commerce.
1.4WHEREAS, the Hastings Chamber of Commerce strives to lead, promote, and advocate for
1.5the Hastings area business community to reinforce a strong local economy and annually recognizes
1.6outstanding contributors to the city; and
1.7WHEREAS, Chuck Spavin has been selected for the Volunteer of the Year award by the
1.8Hastings Chamber of Commerce because of his history of volunteer work with various organizations
1.9and his hours of service that directly benefit the Hastings area; and
1.10WHEREAS, Chuck's passion for providing quality entertainment for the Hastings community
1.11shines through his numerous service projects, which include Rivertown Days, a local community
1.12festival where Chuck manages the entertainment stage and emcees the weekend-long event;
1.13Minnesota Sings, an organization for which Chuck is the lead volunteer, that provides talented
1.14young singers with competitive performance opportunities; and Make Music Day, a national event
1.15which Chuck brought to Hastings that provides live entertainment in multiple outdoor locations
1.16within the community; and
1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.18congratulates Chuck Spavin for being named Volunteer of the Year by the Hastings Chamber of
1.19Commerce and extends gratitude for his continued service to the community.
1.20BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.21enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.22Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Chuck Spavin.
