1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Merchants Bank for being named Business of the Year by the
1.3Hastings Chamber of Commerce.
1.4WHEREAS, the Hastings Chamber of Commerce strives to lead, promote, and advocate for
1.5the Hastings area business community to reinforce a strong local economy and annually recognizes
1.6outstanding contributors to the city; and
1.7WHEREAS, Merchants Bank has been selected for the Business of the Year award by the
1.8Hastings Chamber of Commerce because of its dedication to community support and growth; and
1.9WHEREAS, under their branch manager's leadership, the staff of Merchants Bank is involved
1.10with a number of organizations, including the YMCA, Hastings Family Service, the LeDuc, Hastings
1.11Rotary Club, Black Dirt Theatre, the Hastings Chamber of Commerce, and Hastings Community
1.12TV; and
1.13WHEREAS, Merchants Bank staff members contribute to their community both financially,
1.14through charitable donations, and by giving of their time and energy in support of the missions of
1.15the organizations. A number of the staff were nominated for Volunteer of the Year; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.17congratulates Merchants Bank for being named Business of the Year by the Hastings Chamber of
1.18Commerce and extends warm wishes for the bank's continued success.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Merchants Bank of
1.22Hastings, Minnesota.
