1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Dawson-Boyd High School Minnesota State Football
1.3Class 1A Prep Bowl champions.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship and providing educational
1.6opportunities; and
1.7WHEREAS, the Dawson-Boyd High School Blackjacks are the 2011 Minnesota State
1.8Class 1A Football Champions for the first time in school history; and
1.9WHEREAS, they defeated Mahnomen 35-20 to win the state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Blackjacks finished with an undefeated record of 14-0 for the season; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Blackjacks' success represents a great team effort on behalf of students,
1.12athletes, coaches, and the community; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14it congratulates the members of the Dawson-Boyd High School football team and coaches for
1.15their sportsmanship and skill.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Mr. Brad Madsen,
1.19superintendent of Dawson-Boyd schools.
