1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing Daniel L. Hill of Virginia, Minnesota
1.3WHEREAS, Daniel is a graduate of Chisholm High School and served in the United
1.4States Navy for 21 years; and
1.5WHEREAS, after retiring from the Navy, Daniel became a business owner and real estate
1.6agent and broker; and
1.7WHEREAS, in 2006 he was the state commander of the Disabled American Veterans,
1.8served as assistant national service officer the following year, and also ran Veteran's on the Lake
1.9bringing it out of debt into a financially stable program; and
1.10WHEREAS, Daniel has made tremendous contributions for the veterans programs
1.11in Minnesota, including clothing drives, bringing the Traumatic Brain Injury Center to the
1.12Minneapolis VA Medical Center, establishing the Rehabilitation Wing at the VA Medical Center,
1.13working with the Red Cross, the Silver Bay Veterans Nursing Home, the Salvation Army, and
1.14numerous other projects; and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16thanks Daniel for his service to our country and the veterans programs in our state.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we the undersigned are privileged to thank and honor
1.18the many selfless acts Daniel has dedicated to the betterment of veterans.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Daniel L. Hill.
