1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing the first Friday in May as a statewide day to honor and commend
1.3Minnesota youth who have enlisted in the armed forces.
1.4WHEREAS, youth in the military both serve and embody America's exceptional ideals; and
1.5WHEREAS, men and women of the armed forces defend and uphold the freedom all
1.6Americans hold dear; and
1.7WHEREAS, America's status as a beacon of personal, economic, and religious liberty is
1.8protected by our strong military; and
1.9WHEREAS, joining the armed forces requires courage and commitment, values which are
1.10only more deeply instilled during one's tenure of service; and
1.11WHEREAS, young soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines of today are now being forged
1.12into the American leaders of tomorrow, in both the military and civilian life; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.14recognizes the first Friday in May 2013 as a statewide day to honor and commend Minnesota
1.15youth who have enlisted in the armed forces.
