1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Roseau High School girls basketball team on winning the 2017 State
1.3High School Class 2A girls basketball championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Roseau basketball team, the Rams, participated in the 2017 State High
1.7School Class 2A girls basketball tournament on March 14-18, 2017, at Williams Arena in
1.8Minneapolis; and
1.9WHEREAS, they defeated the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters 75 to 64 in the final game of the
1.10tournament to win the state championship; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Rams finished the season with an outstanding 32-0 record; and
1.12WHEREAS, the Rams won the first state title for the program; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to the members of the Roseau High School girls basketball team for
1.15their sportsmanship and skill.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Roseau
1.19High School.
