1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Edina High School boys hockey team on winning the
1.32013 State High School Class 2A boys hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Edina High School boys hockey team participated in the 2013 State
1.7High School Class 2A boys hockey tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul from
1.8March 7-9, 2013; and
1.9WHEREAS, they defeated the Hill-Murray Pioneers 4-2 in the final game of the
1.10tournament to win the state championship for the 11th time in school history; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Hornets finished the regular season with an outstanding 22-6-0 record;
1.12they have now earned six straight trips to the State High School hockey tournament; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to Edina High School boys hockey team Head Coach Curt Giles,
1.15Assistant Coaches Dick Blooston and Dave Langevin, Volunteer Coaches Don Beaupre, Dave
1.16Terwilliger, and Scott Wetterberg, and players Willie Benjamin, Ben Hull, Ben Foley, Anthony
1.17Walsh, Parker Reno, Matt Nelson, Hayden Anderson, Cullen Raasch, Cullen Munson, Andy
1.18Jordahl, Miguel Fidler, Conner Hurley, Tim Spicola, Dan Hinueber, Bo Brauer, Dylan Malmquist,
1.19Ryan Hatch, Matt Masterman, Tyler Nanne, and Andrew Rohkohl, for their sportsmanship and
1.20skill.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.22an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.23the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.24Edina High School.
