1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Dale Vander Linden for being named Delano's Citizen of the Year.
1.3WHEREAS, those who selflessly volunteer their time to benefit their community are
1.4deserving of special legislative recognition; and
1.5WHEREAS, Dale "Timber Dan" Vander Linden is a dedicated volunteer with organizations
1.6such as the Delano Lions, Delano American Legion, 12 West Toastmasters, Delano Sportsmen's
1.7Club, and the "Troublemakers" Coffee Group, which engages in serious discussions about issues
1.8in town and stays active in attending city council and school board meetings; and
1.9WHEREAS, one of Dale's greatest contributions involves serving as a Legion honor guard
1.10at funerals and at flag postings at numerous organizations and events; and
1.11WHEREAS, Dale has been named Delano's Citizen of the Year for 2013 by the General
1.12Federated Women's Club, and will be honored at a banquet on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the
1.13Delano American Legion; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.15congratulates Dale Vander Linden on being named Delano's Citizen of the Year
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Dale Vander Linden.
