relating to public safety; appropriating money for squad car camera technology
upgrade grants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $2,000,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, and $2,000,000 for the fiscal
year ending June 30, 2009, are appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
public safety for grants to enable local law enforcement agencies to make squad car camera
technology upgrades. Of this amount, $500,000 is for a grant to the city of Minneapolis.
