  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education; regarding notification to 
  1.3             teachers that are in contact with students with 
  1.4             histories of violent behavior; amending Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes 2002, section 121A.64. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 121A.64, is 
  1.8   amended to read: 
  1.9      121A.64 [NOTIFICATION.] 
  1.10     Representatives of the school board and the exclusive 
  1.11  representative of the teachers shall discuss issues related to 
  1.12  notification The exclusive representative of the teachers and 
  1.13  district employees who are in direct contact with the student 
  1.14  must be notified prior to placement in classrooms of students 
  1.15  with histories of violent behavior and the exclusive 
  1.16  representative and district will discuss any need for 
  1.17  intervention services or conflict resolution or training for 
  1.18  staff in these cases.
