  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to retirement; including certain firefighters 
  1.3             in the public employees police and fire plan; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 353.64, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 353.64, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 12.  [FIRE MARSHAL INSPECTORS AND INVESTIGATORS.] A 
  1.10  person who is employed as a firefighter and is defined under 
  1.11  section 179A.03, subdivision 7, as an essential employee, and 
  1.12  whose duties include acting as a fire marshal inspector or fire 
  1.13  marshal investigator is a member of the public employees police 
  1.14  and fire fund under sections 353.63 to 353.68.
