  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to transportation; appropriating money and 
  1.3             authorizing issuance of state bonds for highway 5 
  1.4             safety improvements. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [HIGHWAY 5 SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS.] 
  1.7      $100,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of transportation for the addition of protected 
  1.9   left-turn lanes and related improvements to enhance safety on 
  1.10  marked trunk highway 5 in Lake Elmo and Baytown township. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.12     To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond 
  1.13  proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell and issue 
  1.14  bonds of the state in an amount up to $100,000 in the manner, 
  1.15  upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed in Minnesota 
  1.16  Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota 
  1.17  Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.  
  1.18     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
