  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money for a 
  1.3             regional sludge management demonstration project. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   public facilities authority for a grant to the regional sludge 
  1.8   joint powers board consisting of the cities of Arlington, 
  1.9   Brownton, Glencoe, Henderson, Litchfield, Lester Prairie and 
  1.10  Maple Lake for a regional sludge management demonstration 
  1.11  project.  Project costs may include the purchase of a mobile 
  1.12  belt press, storage requirements, and local treatment plant 
  1.13  modifications.  The joint powers board shall submit a report on 
  1.14  the results of the demonstration project to the chair of the 
  1.15  senate jobs, housing and community development committee and the 
  1.16  chair of the senate environment and natural resources committee, 
  1.17  as well as the chair of the house environment and natural 
  1.18  resources policy committee and the chair of the house commerce, 
  1.19  jobs, and economic development committee by January 31, 2001.
