  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to higher education; restoring funds to the 
  1.3             post-secondary work study and child care grant 
  1.4             programs; appropriating money.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [DEFICIENCY APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $16,054,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   higher education services office for fiscal year 2003 to restore 
  1.9   money transferred according to Laws 2002, chapter 374, article 
  1.10  5, section 2, to the state grant program under Minnesota 
  1.11  Statutes, section 136A.095, from work study grants under 
  1.12  Minnesota Statutes, section 136A.233, and child care grants 
  1.13  under Minnesota Statutes, section 136A.125.  Of this amount, 
  1.14  $12,444,000 is for work study grants and $3,610,000 is for child 
  1.15  care grants.
