A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; appropriating money for certain mine pit
improvements.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $4,500,000 in fiscal year 2020 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of natural resources to complete the necessary pump placements and routing discharges of
water to mitigate the threat of rising pit waters at the Canisteo Mine Pit chain to protect
property and at the St. James Mine Pit to protect the potable water systems for the city of
Aurora and the town of White. This is a onetime appropriation and available until June 30,
2022.
