A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; appropriating money for culturally specific
emergency medical services training.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TRAINING; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $500,000 in fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for grants to
provide culturally specific, minority-based emergency medical services academies that
focus on career development and placement of workers across the state. Of this amount,
$250,000 each year is for a grant to the Minneapolis Fire Department and $250,000 each
year is for a grant to the St. Paul Fire Department.
