A bill for an act
relating to state finances; establishing an account in the federal fund; depositing
money from the federal coronavirus relief fund.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin CORONAVIRUS RELIEF ACCOUNT.

new text begin The coronavirus relief account is created in the federal fund in the state treasury. All
money received by the state under title V of Public Law 116-136 must be credited to the
coronavirus relief account. Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 3.3005 and 4.07,
subdivision 3, money in the account must not be spent except pursuant to a direct
appropriation by law. Money in the account is to pay expenses incurred by the state for the
infectious disease known as COVID-19. When all money credited to the account has been
spent, the commissioner of management and budget shall close the account.
