A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a monument to missing
and murdered indigenous women.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... is appropriated in fiscal year 2023 from the general fund to the commissioner of
administration to place a monument in remembrance of missing and murdered indigenous
women on the grounds of the State Capitol building at the site previously occupied by a
statue of Columbus. The commissioner must follow the process in Minnesota Statutes,
sections 138.67 to 138.70, in the acquisition and placement of the monument. This
appropriation is available until expended.
