A bill for an act
relating to energy; appropriating money for solar energy systems.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 116C.779, subdivision 1, paragraph (j),
$5,000,000 in fiscal year 2021 is appropriated from the renewable development account
established under Minnesota Statutes, section 116C.779, subdivision 1, to the commissioner
of commerce for transfer to the Office of Enterprise Sustainability to install solar energy
systems on state-owned buildings and land adjacent to state-owned buildings.
Notwithstanding the size limitation in Minnesota Statutes, section 16B.323, subdivision 2,
solar energy systems installed using funds appropriated under this section may be larger
than 300 kilowatts. This is a onetime appropriation.
