A bill for an act
relating to public safety; lowering the penalty for the performance of acts
prohibited by statutes for which no penalty is specified; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2014, section 645.241; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 5B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin When the performance of any act is prohibited under this chapter as of February
1, 2015, but no criminal or civil penalty is provided, the commission of the act is a
misdemeanor.

committed on or after that date.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 645.241, is amended to read:


645.241 PUNISHMENT FOR PROHIBITED ACTS.

prohibited by a statute, and no penalty for the violation of the same shall be imposed in
