A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the Indian Health Board
for new health care facilities in Minneapolis.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin INDIAN HEALTH BOARD; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin (a) $1,500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of employment
and economic development for a grant to the Indian Health Board for the development of
two new health care facilities in the city of Minneapolis. The new facilities shall increase
the number of persons served and expand health care opportunities for the Twin Cities
American Indian community, for American Indians who travel regularly between their
reservations in greater Minnesota and the Minneapolis area, as well as patients in the local
community.

new text begin (b) $1,000,000 of this appropriation is to construct, furnish, and equip improvements
for the Behavioral Health Clinic located at 2101 Minnehaha Avenue and $500,000 of this
appropriation is for predesign and design of a new, combined medical and dental clinic at
2010 Minnehaha Avenue.

new text begin (c) This appropriation is available until the projects in this section are completed or
abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.

determines that a sufficient amount has been committed from nonstate sources to complete
