A bill for an act
relating to transportation; appropriating money for improvements and reconstruction
of 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue, and 12th Street in the city of Newport.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $4,658,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of transportation for one or more grants to the city of Newport for improvements and
reconstruction of 2nd Avenue and Cedar Lane between 11th and 15th Streets, 3rd Avenue
between 12th and 14th Streets, and 12th Street west of 4th Avenue in Newport. This project
includes replacement of hydrants, replacement of water main, replacement of sanitary sewer
mains and lateral service lines, and construction of stormwater collection and treatment
systems. This is a onetime appropriation.
