relating to insurance; health; requiring health plans to cover multiple types of
prescription drug administration for opioid dependence; proposing coding for new
law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 62Q.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

OPIOID DEPENDENCE.

new text begin A health plan must provide the same coverage for all methods to administer prescription
drugs to treat opioid dependence. Methods to administer drugs to treat opioid dependence
include but are not limited to orally administered prescription drugs and the intramuscular
and subcutaneous administration of prescription drugs.
