A bill for an act
relating to human services; modifying MFIP reporting requirements; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 256J.30, subdivision 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 256J.30, subdivision 5, is amended to read:


Subd. 5.

Each assistance unit with a member who
has earned income or a recent work history, and each assistance unit that has income deemed
to it from a financially responsible person must complete deleted text begin a monthlydeleted text end new text begin annew text end MFIP household
report formnew text begin once every six monthsnew text end . "Recent work history" means the individual received
earned income in the report deleted text begin month or any of the previous three calendar monthsdeleted text end new text begin periodnew text end even
if the earnings are excluded. To be complete, the MFIP household report form must be
signed and dated by the caregivers no earlier than the last day of the reporting period. All
questions required to determine assistance payment eligibility must be answered, and
documentation of earned income must be included.
