A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; appropriating money for off-highway motorcycle
and off-road vehicle trail ambassador programs.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TRAIL AMBASSADOR PROGRAMS; APPROPRIATIONS.

new text begin (a) $40,000 in fiscal year 2022 and $40,000 in fiscal year 2023 are appropriated from
the off-highway motorcycle account in the natural resources fund to the commissioner of
natural resources for grants to qualifying off-highway motorcycle organizations to assist in
safety and environmental education and monitoring trails on public lands under Minnesota
Statutes, section 84.9011. Grants issued under this paragraph must be issued through a
formal agreement with the organization. By December 15 each year, an organization receiving
a grant under this paragraph must report to the commissioner with details on expenditures
and outcomes from the grant. Any unencumbered balance does not cancel at the end of
fiscal year 2022 and is available in fiscal year 2023.
