A bill for an act
 relating to metropolitan government; directing the Metropolitan Airports
Commission to enforce certain covenants.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin COVENANT ENFORCEMENT.

new text begin If, through merger or otherwise, an airline serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul
International Airport fails to adhere to all covenants regarding the maintenance of its hub,
headquarters, and required employment levels in the state of Minnesota, the Metropolitan
Airports Commission shall use all available means to require repayment of all outstanding
bond obligations and previously granted rent reductions pursuant to the terms of the
covenants. The Metropolitan Airports Commission shall not compromise its claims to
these amounts, extend the period allowed for repayment of these amounts, or permit
amendment or modification of the covenants.
