A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for the renovation of the historic
Central School in the city of Grand Rapids.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; GRAND RAPIDS CENTRAL SCHOOL
RENOVATION.

new text begin $3,800,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to the city of Grand Rapids to design,
construct, furnish, and equip the renovation of the historic Central School building in the
city of Grand Rapids. This appropriation includes money for major projects to preserve or
replace HVAC and electrical systems, fire suppression and safety improvements,
improvements for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), roof
improvements, and site renovations to support ongoing operations. This appropriation is
onetime and is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota
Statutes, section 16A.642.
