  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; appropriating money for suicide 
  1.3             prevention. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [SUICIDE PREVENTION PLAN DEVELOPMENT.] 
  1.7   $200,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2000 from the general 
  1.8   fund to the commissioner of health to develop a suicide 
  1.9   prevention plan.  The plan must be reported to the legislature 
  1.10  by July 1, 2000.  
  1.11     Subd. 2.  [SUICIDE PREVENTION PLAN 
  1.12  IMPLEMENTATION.] $100,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2001 
  1.13  from the general fund to the board of regents of the University 
  1.14  of Minnesota to implement the suicide prevention plan developed 
  1.15  under subdivision 1.  
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1, subdivision 1, is effective the day following 
  1.18  final enactment.
