A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money to EquaSpace workspace for
nonprofit corporations in St. Paul.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin EQUASPACE NONPROFIT WORKSPACE; ST. PAUL.

new text begin $15,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of employment
and economic development for a grant to EquaSpace to acquire property for and to predesign,
design, construct, furnish, and equip a workspace in the downtown area of the city of St.
Paul to serve multiple nonprofit businesses in a space-sharing arrangement to allow
collaboration. The property may be leased to other nonprofit corporations. This appropriation
is available when sufficient resources have been committed to the project to complete the
project. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the project is completed or
abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
