BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of education for the fiscal year

new text begin For a grant to EdVisions Schools as
fiscal agent for Center for School Change to establish a pilot program to assist diverse and
minority Minnesota high school students in preparing for careers in education:

new text begin Funds appropriated in this section are to be used to design, implement, and report the
progress of a one-year pilot program to assist diverse and minority Minnesota public high
school students in pursuing careers as teachers by augmenting student support services and
strengthening relationships between high schools and colleges and universities to optimize
dual enrollment options with a focus on teacher preparation courses. Four to six public or
charter high schools in the greater Minnesota and Twin Cities metropolitan areas with a
strong commitment to the program objectives will be selected to participate in the pilot
program. This is a onetime appropriation.
