A bill for an act
 relating to education; requiring statewide P-16 education partnerships to include
legislators.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin P-16 EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS TO INCLUDE LEGISLATORS.

new text begin Any voluntary statewide P-16 education partnership established to develop
recommendations for collaboratively improving Minnesota students' transition to college
and work readiness, among other P-16 initiatives, must include at least (1) one legislator
who is a member of the majority party of the house of representatives appointed by the
speaker of the house, (2) one legislator who is a member of the minority party of the
house of representatives appointed by the house minority leader, (3) one legislator who
is a member of the majority party of the senate appointed by the senate majority leader,
and (4) one legislator who is a member of the minority party of the senate appointed by
the senate minority leader.
