A bill for an act
relating to public safety; appropriating funds to the commissioner of public
safety to process controlled substance evidence submitted to the state's crime
laboratories for chemical testing in a timely manner.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TIMELY CHEMICAL TESTING OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
EVIDENCE COLLECTED FROM CRIME SCENES; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of public safety to decrease the amount of time required to conduct chemical testing of
suspected controlled substance evidence submitted to the state's crime laboratories by
investigators.
