A bill for an act
relating to state government; limiting paid leave for state employees who are
subjects of investigations; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 43A.05, by
adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 43A.05, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin The commissioner must ensure that no state
employee is placed on paid leave of more than 60 days related to a single workplace
investigation. After 60 days, the commissioner must ensure that the employee is terminated,
returns to work, or is placed on unpaid leave.
