A bill for an act
relating to employment; economic development; allowing racetracks for auto
racing to open.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin AUTO RACING PERMITTED.

new text begin Notwithstanding executive orders to the contrary, racetracks for auto racing may host
auto racing events and may allow spectators to attend the events. The number of spectators
allowed to be present at a racing event is 50 percent of the capacity of the venue, as
determined under applicable fire codes. There is no limit on the number of crew members
who can be in pit areas designated for their racing team while the crew is supporting a car
during a race.

new text begin This section is effective the day following final enactment and
expires the day after the termination, rescission, or expiration of a last effective executive
order issued by the governor for an outbreak of COVID-19 that precludes auto racing tracks
from operating or that limits spectators or pit crews, other than as restricted under applicable
fire codes.
