A bill for an act
 relating to public safety; modifying expense reimbursement for bomb disposal
units; amending Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 299C.063, subdivision 2.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 299C.063, subdivision 2, is amended to read:


Subd. 2.

Expense reimbursement.

The commissioner may reimburse bomb disposal
units for reasonable expenses incurred to dispose of or neutralize bombs or other similar
hazardous explosives new text begin or during protective and preventative measures such as protection
sweeps for dignitaries or important or famous persons or other requested hazardous explosive
operations new text end for their employer-municipality or for another municipality outside the jurisdiction
of the employer-municipality deleted text begin butdeleted text end new text begin eithernew text end within new text begin or outside new text end the state. Reimbursement is limited
to the extent of appropriated funds.
