relating to workforce development; appropriating money for apprenticeship
preparation programming.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin BUILDING STRONG COMMUNITIES; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $400,000 in fiscal year 2024 and $400,000 in fiscal year 2025 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to
Building Strong Communities, Inc. for a statewide apprenticeship readiness program to
prepare women, BIPOC community members, and veterans to enter the building and
construction trades. These are onetime appropriations and are not added to the base for this
purpose.
