relating to unemployment insurance; modifying certain second benefit account
benefits.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin NEW BENEFIT ACCOUNTS.

new text begin If an applicant establishes a new benefit account under Minnesota Statutes, section
268.07, subdivision 3, within 39 weeks of the expiration of the benefit year on a prior
benefit account, notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 268.07, subdivision 2,
paragraph (b), the weekly benefit amount on the new benefit account will not be less than
80 percent of the weekly benefit amount on the prior benefit account.

the first Sunday following enactment and expires June 30, 2011.
