  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to cities of the first class; permitting 
  1.3             cities of the first class to amortize nonconforming 
  1.4             uses; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 
  1.5             462.357, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 462.357, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 1f.  [CITIES OF THE FIRST CLASS; AMORTIZATION 
  1.10  PERMITTED.] Notwithstanding subdivision 1c, a city of the first 
  1.11  class may enact, amend, and enforce an ordinance providing for 
  1.12  the elimination or termination of a nonconforming use by 
  1.13  amortization.
