A bill for an act
 relating to Wabasha County; authorizing Wabasha County to build a jail and
criminal justice center outside of the county seat.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin WABASHA COUNTY; JAIL AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE CENTER.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 373.05, Wabasha County may build
a jail and criminal justice center outside of the county seat to replace the current jail
located in the city of Wabasha.

Sec. 2. new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE; LOCAL APPROVAL.

new text begin Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment. Under Minnesota Statutes,
section 645.023, subdivision 1, clause (a), section 1 takes effect without local approval.
